Photo Mosaic

To make these images I used AndreaMosaic. For these images I took pictures of flowers and used some that I already had. I put them into the program and it brought them all together into the one.

Scanographs

These images were all scans. I did a scan of the colored pencil and the shavings. I left the lid of the scanner open to get the black background or I closed the lid for the white. I wanted to do something more abstract. These other images are of hand sanitizer on the scanner. Then I added some food coloring to have more color. I just liked the shapes and the way it lit the hand sanitizer. I edited them a little in photoshop.

Water Color

These were edited with a watercolor effect. I took these photos around BYUI campus. I used a low aperture of 5.6 or 8. I edited these images in photoshop. I brought the photos in and made them black and white. Then I added the watercolor filter. I created a layer with the water color splatter and created a mask on that layer. I pasted the image on the mask so the splatter would only show in the white, or if inverted it would show in the black.

Product Redesign

The product I chose is Burt’s Bees Chap Stick. The target market could be men and women  from teenagers to 50 years old. It is probably targeted more towards women though.

From those first candles to the iconic beeswax lip balm we all know today, Burt’s bees has stayed true to a very simple idea what you put on your body should be made from the best nature has to offer. Roxanne perfects a recipe she found in a 19^th century farmers journal. Burt’s bees beeswax lip balm is added to the lineup and quickly becomes there best seller. It still is. In 1994 they relocated to North Carolina to focus on health and beauty care. In 1999 Burt’s bees went global.

My idea is to redesign the label on burts bee’s chapstick. I want to make a label that they can use on all their products. I want to keep it simple and have it very recognizable when people see it.

Mountain Man Rendezvous

These images were taken on May 17, 2014, at the Mountain Man Rendezvous In Jackson Hole Wyoming. The pictures of the items were all things that the people at the rendezvous were selling. The first one is of Jenae throwing the ax at the log. For all of these pictures I used a low aperture of f/5 or f/5.6. I edited the images in Photoshop. I did a little curves and color balance. I used the high pass filter to sharpen the images.

Mountain Man Rendezvous: Woman

These images were taken on May 17, 2014, at the Mountain Man Rendezvous In Jackson Hole Wyoming. For all of these pictures I used a low aperture of 5.6. When I used the external flash my settings were 1/200 and f/9. I edited the images in Photoshop. I did a little sharpening and curves and I got rid of a few blemishes.

Mountain Man Rendezvous

These images were taken on May 17, 2014, at the Mountain Man Rendezvous In Jackson Hole Wyoming. For all of these pictures I used a low aperture between 5 and 9. When I used the external flash my settings were 1/200 and f/9. I edited the images in Photoshop. I did a little sharpening and curves. I got rid of a few blemishes but I wanted to keep it like it was so you could see how he really looked.

These photos were taken on May 17, 2014, at Mountain Man Rendezvous, in Jackson Hole Wyoming. For these images I kept my aperture low at f/5.0 or f/5.6. When I used the flash my f/9 1/200. I edited them in Photoshop. I tried to not edit them very much, to keep the look he had. I sharpened and did some curves to adjust the light.

These images were taken on May 17, 2014, at the Mountain Man Rendezvous In Jackson Hole Wyoming. For all of these pictures I used a low aperture either 6.3 and 5.6. When I used the external flash my settings were 1/160 and f/6.3. I edited the images in Photoshop. I did a little sharpening and curves. I got rid of a few blemishes but I wanted to keep it like it was so you could see how he really looked.
